I’m pausing a moment from the debauchery of the Christmas festvities to provide a quick update on the US lawsuit that could have seen mandatory wearing of condoms on porn sets.
On 23rd December an L.A. County Court judge rejected the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF)’s request to make ‘safer sex’ mandatory in porn films. In a preemptive move, the adult film industry’s Free Speech coalition had published its own plans for self-regulation amongst industry members.
As I said in an earlier post, self-regulation and public education have to be preferable to Government censorship. We live in a free society, and it can never be right to ban others from seeing something that’s completely legal, purely because you don’t like it yourself. Nevertheless, the AHF plans to appeal the judge’s decision.

I’m just hanging up my Christmas stocking, and leaving a couple of mince pies on the mantelpiece for Santa. I was politely sipping a Bombay and tonic in my favourite bar the other day, when I was engaged in conversation by a rather elegant and articulate young man. Was I in luck? Well, not in the sense I had originally hoped. He wanted to know my opinions on the rights and wrongs of bareback in the gay porn industry, and whether it should be legislated against in the UK.
Well to cut a long story short, the lad was not only fit, but also turned out to be a correspondent for the Pink Paper. And here are my views…

Matt & Ryan
It’s almost Christmas yet again! It’s hard to believe that it’s seven years since we released our epic ‘DreamBoy‘, after a manic summer of filming around Europe. Some of the original cast still keep in touch, and it was great to have our first ever star Ryan Morgan appear in a scene with Matt Hughes a few months ago. Ryan’s looking better than ever now.
Our own year has been pretty busy. I think the recession hit the porn industry pretty hard, and quite a few companies have gone under. Thanks to our loyal fans we weren’t affected too badly. Thankfully, our economies seem to have turned the corner now, so let’s hope 2010 will be a bumper year for everyone!
