U.S. Judge throws out condom lawsuit

I’m pausing a moment from the debauchery of the Christmas festvities to provide a quick update on the US lawsuit that could have seen mandatory wearing of condoms on porn sets.
On 23rd December an L.A. County Court judge rejected the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF)’s request to make ‘safer sex’ mandatory in porn films. In a preemptive move, the adult film industry’s Free Speech coalition had published its own plans for self-regulation amongst industry members.
As I said in an earlier post, self-regulation and public education have to be preferable to Government censorship. We live in a free society, and it can never be right to ban others from seeing something that’s completely legal, purely because you don’t like it yourself. Nevertheless, the AHF plans to appeal the judge’s decision.
